The
short reading list
:
- The
Four Phases This is an excellent article by Doug
Fakkema. Many know him through his work with the American Humane Association.
Doug has given us permission to post his article here.
- Safe
Dogs, Safe Rescuers—Think Before You Drive. Another excellent
article. This is by Susan Hogarth. There is a link to Susan's site,
as well as an email address if you wish to be added to the signatories.
- Guidelines
for "Emergency/Risky" Transports—Some
things to consider when planning or preparing for any run, "risky"
or otherwise. By permission of the author, Sheri Hearn.
- A
Run Plan Outline. This is one of the documents we use
when planning a CUR transport.
- Determining
a Dog’s Eligibility for transport. Many transport groups
and volunteers have at least these basic minimum requirements which
are to be met before accepting a dog for transport.
